Frequently Asked Questions Print E-mail

Do you play in bad weather?
Light to medium and patchy rain is acceptable, and will not disrupt your event. Heavy rain or a lightning storm may mean that we need to re-schedule your event to another date.

If you are unsure of the weather on the day of your booking, and you haven't heard from us, then your game play will more than likely be going ahead. If in doubt, please call us!

What if I don't have enough players for a private booking?
Try coming along to one of our public sessions or email us with your details, and we will try to arrange a joint booking with another small group in the same situation.

What should I bring on game day?
You will need to wear ENCLOSED sturdy and comfortable shoes, long sleeve trousers and shirts. Depending on your session and which options you take, army clothing may be included.

Must I wear your uniforms to play?
No, you can wear your own clothing. However you must wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt. It’s a good idea not to wear anything too bright. The reason for our uniform being green is to ensure you blend into the bush environment. We wouldn’t want to make it too easy now would we?

What happens when I am eliminated?
You must take off your hat and return to your designated base if eliminated. Once you are eliminated, you are not allowed to speak to anyone on either team. Upon your return there may be a re-spawn (new life) waiting for you.

Can I shoot through trees?
Anything that blocks your line of sight will block the infra red beam as it’s a light based system, therefore you cannot shoot through trees. Leaves provide partial cover. The harder it is to see through the leaves, the more cover they provide. For players, often trees with thick trunks make the best cover.

What's the recommended Playing field area?
The space required, is a factor of terrain density as well as the number of players. Generally beginners like smaller fields, less than 3 acres because they want to start shooting each other within minutes of the mission commencement. Regulars on the other hand, want room to hide, patrol and establish ambushes. Ideally the larger the area, the more choice we have in setting designated playing fields.

How do you keep track of a game?
Referee's track mission objectives and do the scoring. Another key feature of our equipment is the anti-cheating functions, for example when the player takes their last hit; your phaser displays the word "DEAD". The phaser is then disabled and cannot be reset by the player. Only your designated referee can reset your gun.

How accurate do you need to be?
Unlike TV, you need to aim to make hits!

The sport is called “Laser Skirmish", are there any actual lasers?
There are no lasers used in our units. In fact they use infrared, similar to your TV remote control.
